This week we are launching several new websites, the first for the week is the new web design for Cape Fear Living Magazine located here in Wilmington, NC. At the end of 2015 Cape Fear Living Magazine was acquired by a new company that has come in and really changed a lot of things having to do with the magazine. One of the items on their list of things to change was updating their website to a fresh new responsive web design. We also built a customized Ad Manager on this new site, so that they can produce metrics for their sponsors in real time. We wish the new owners much success and we are very happy to be working with them.
Real Estate Web Design:
Impact Media Solutions’ first web design launch of 2016 goes to Team Gale Real Estate here in Wilmington, NC. This is the 3rd custom web design we have created for Team Gale since 2006. Year after Year Team Gale is recognized as the top Real Estate Team in Southeastern North Carolina, and we like to think we have helped with that, but it all starts with Jack and Tom Gale, the 2 team captains we have worked with over the years. They are constantly embracing new technologies, and are always looking for better ways to service their clients. We look forward to seeing how they do in 2016 with their new web design that offers not only Responsive Web Design, but some new Real Estate Tools that are brand new!

Unfamiliar with WordPress? According to Wikipedia,
“WordPress is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. Features include a plugin architecture and a template system. WordPress was used by more than 23.3% of the top 10 million websites as of January 2015″
WordPress started in 2003 and has become a strong tool in the hands of web developers. With WordPress, Impact Media Solutions is able to create a professional, clean, mobile-friendly website that works well with Google and the other search engines, all for a cost that is less than a built from scratch custom website.
Add to that the additional benefit of a 10% off discount, and that’s what we call a win-win.
How can you qualify for the 10% off discount? Receive and agree to a WordPress website proposal between now and August 31, and we will take 10% off the web development costs. It’s that simple.
Here are a few examples of great websites we have developed with WordPress:
Can I update my own website?

We are proud to announce a new mobile responsive WordPress website for BikeCycles of Wilmington, NC. The old site for BikeCycles looked good and functioned well, but it was not mobile responsive, and thus it had dropped in SEO since the Google algorithm shift in April.
The new site features a full screen image slider with text overlays and responsive header links.
The old site was a WordPress website, and we were able to update to a new WordPress theme and make the necessary edits and tweaks to make the mobile functionality work smoothly.
We would love your feedback on how the new site looks and functions!
If your site is in WordPress and is not mobile responsive, then you really have no excuse to not update to a responsive theme. Changing the WordPress theme will enhance your Search Engine rankings, and can be done for a fraction of the cost of a new website build.

We are pleased to announce that today we just launched a new web design for Thunderbolt Marine in Savannah, GA. Thunderbolt has a 25 acre facility on the Wilmington River and has been in existence since 1969. We are very humbled that they chose us to assist with creating their new responsive web design and internet marketing. One of the things they are best known for is that if you dock @ Thunderbolt overnight, you will wake up with a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts waiting on you. We plan to do just that once we have a boat big enough to sleep on.
By virtue of being web design and IT pros, we live indoors more than we would like.
When the flourescent lights and monitors just aren’t cutting it and we start craving sunshine, we get to enjoy the incredible outdoor paradise that our fair town Wilmington, NC offers.

1. True Wetsuits by QuikSilver
Full bore wetsuits that look like you walked out of the boss’s office. Charlotte meets Wrightsville Beach in this new collection from Quiksilver.
A fold-flat, inflatable paddleboard with a jet-propulsion system that’s controlled via a wifi paddle? I’ll take two, please. You can pre-order this on Kickstarter now, and it would be perfect for lunchtime paddles around Wrightsville Beach.
Ok, so this isn’t intended for outdoors, but I wanted to work it in somehow. I’ve been playing around with a standing desk, but this takes the concept to a whole new level. Now on top of my surf picture wallpaper, while working on web design, I can be surfing….kind of.
4. BioLite Campstoves
On my backpacking trips, phone battery life has always been an issue. This amazing solution charges your phone via power snatched from the energy released by burning fuel for your campstove. Boil water and replenish your battery! Perfect for weekend excursions at Masonboro Island or Carolina Beach State Park.
5. Phantom 2
If you’ve spent any time with Impact Media, you know that Brian is a drone nut, and when he isn’t neck deep in web design, you can find him around Wilmington nabbing some incredible aerial footage. The Phantom 2 is our drone of choice.
This list is by no means exhaustive, but it reflects the coolest in outdoor tech that we’ve seen recently. What would you add to the list? Hit up our facebook page and let us know.
Work hard, play harder!
